Improvements go beyond healthcare—Advancements in education, childcare, housing, business, law, media, community planning, transportation and agriculture are needed to realize real healthcare reform. These elements, along with others, are social determinants of health- factors not directly connected to the healthcare industry yet vital to the health and well-being of communities. How does the healthcare community need to interact with these elements to establish a higher quality of care, while stabilizing and reducing costs?
